Enhancing Your Natural Beauty ™ In Every Phase of Life
There are so many beauty products available to us nowadays.
Walk into any pharmacy or just check out the skincare session of Big departmental stores like shoprite or even online —and you’ll see literally hundreds of beauty products competing for a place in your shelf.
Truth is not all of these products, as fancy as they look is good for you.
Most of these products are filled with all kinds of chemicals.
In case you don't know, Everything we put on our skin is absorbed into our bodies.
If that's the case, then we'd want to put stuffs on the skin that are natural, safe and healthy.
The problem is ordinary skin care products are filled with all kinds of stuff we would never consider allowing in our bodies if we were eating them.
But we’re really used to all those chemicals. It's everywhere. it's cheap. And before we transition to all-natural products, it can feel like they're working fine and so we need them.
That’s because a lot of those ingredients seem to work in the short-term. They can clear our skin, stop breakouts, give us a little extra color—even as they’re slowly wreaking havoc on our system in the long run.
We've had cases of people use products like this and end up with stretch marks, battered face, burns and all forms of skin damage, in fact some of these products are so unhealthy that once you start using them you have to keep using else the moment you stop the damage it has done over them becomes obvious.
I know when I was first making the switch to using all-natural products, I wondered whether simple ingredients would really do the job. But now that I’ve shifted over to all-natural skin care, I’ll never go back.
When you switch to natural beauty products, you are choosing cleaner and gentler products with superior quality ingredients containing vitamins and minerals that feeds and nourish the skin in a way that leaves it healthier over time.
Here are a few things I found helpful as I made the transition...
1. Start With a Mini Detox
"If you have the time and patience, do a mini skin detox before switching over to a clean beauty and skin care routine. This means exfoliating using a Body Scrub, and not using any other products—for two days or three if possible.
This process allows you to sweat and purge out toxins before switching to cleaner products. If you don't have time to do a full detox or you're feeling overwhelmed or excited by the idea of switching to an entirely new routine, just get started anywhere you can
2. Give it time.
Any time you change up your skin care routine, there’s a bit of an adjustment period.
Your skin knows. It’s a living organism. Making a big shift in your skincare routine is like making a big change in your diet—it takes time to adjust and get used to the new normal.
When you first change over, you might notice differences—maybe your skin is getting a bit darker than usual. Maybe you’re noticing a little breakout.
The good news: it doesn’t mean the product is not working. We are adaptable creatures. Just give it time your skin will adapt to the natural healthier ingredients.
Instead of taking this as a sign something is wrong or that your skin doesn’t “like” the new products, try giving it a couple of weeks. Give your body a chance to shift back into its natural balance.
3. Experiment to find what works.
"Properly set your expectations and know that it's a process—as with everything else in life. The first natural products you try may be the perfect fit—or it might take some time to find the ones that really work with your unique skin.
If the first all-natural products don’t work for you (even after an adjustment period), you may need to experiment with a few before you find what you love.
For example, Neutriherbs Vitamin E Cleanser and Neutriherbs Vitamin C Cleanser are our two all-natural facial cleansers. Each works a little differently. The Vitamin C Daily Facial Cleanser is more luminous and gives your skin a fresh look, while Vitamin E Gentle Cleanser is formulated to hydrate your skin while giving it a thorough cleansing.
I experimented with both, along with Retinol, before I realized that Vitamin E is what my skin likes best. And it may be different for you!
Try experimenting with different natural products until you find the ones you love. Your skin—will thank you for it!
Lastly, don't forget to patch test before using a new product because your skin may react negatively to specific ingredients even though they are natural.
4. Start one by one
Don’t throw all of your makeup, cleansing and skincare products out all at once. Doing a complete overhaul of your bathroom cupboard can be daunting, not to mention expensive. Instead, an alternative would be to start replacing your products as you run out of them. Or, you can choose the products you use the most, such as daily cleansers or moisturizers, and find safe, healthy, natural alternatives to those.
5. Start with a brand you love
Many people are afraid that a natural beauty routine will compromise your skin, cause even greater breakouts, or worsen your skin tone. In fact, it is just the opposite! When you find a brand that you love and that your skin loves, too, you’ll find that the health and radiance of your skin increases.
Neutriherbs believe in promoting healthy, lovable skin with gentle, lightweight formulas that are rich in botanical extracts, antioxidants, vitamins and amino acids vital to skin’s health. Ready to try it out?
